📢 WE'RE HIRING: LEVEL 1 QUALITY CONTROLLER (QC)
📍 Location: Boksburg, Johannesburg
Are you detail-oriented, with a passion for quality assurance, fabrication, and engineering standards?
1st4Careers is seeking a Level 1 Quality Controller on behalf of our client to support fabrication and manufacturing operations, ensuring that products meet the required engineering specifications, industry codes, and quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional to contribute to large-scale engineering and fabrication projects within the mining and heavy engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities
- 🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct quality inspections during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Verify materials, welding, and fabrication against approved engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with project Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Work closely with fabrication teams to identify and resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Assist with supplier and internal inspections, witness points, and final release documentation.
- Compile inspection reports, quality data books, and manufacturing records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and established procedures.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- ✅ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Inspection, or Quality Control.
- SAIW Level 1 QC or welding inspection experience.
- Experience in fabrication, mining equipment, or a heavy engineering environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with ASME and AWS welding and fabrication standards.
Required Skills
- SAIW Level 1 QC or welding inspection experience.
