Description

As a Projects Operations Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the logistics and supply chain operations within our Durban location. Your expertise will ensure the seamless flow of goods and services, from transport management to freight operations. You will utilize your strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders, implement effective processes, and manage documentation related to import and export procedures. This position requires a keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address challenges proactively, ensuring that operations meet both company and client expectations. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistics operations ensuring timely and efficient transport of goods.
• Coordinate with suppliers and customers to manage supply chain processes effectively.
• Implement and monitor freight operations and logistics coordination strategies.
• Ensure compliance with import/export procedures and manage all related documentation.
• Utilize fleet and warehouse management systems to optimize operational performance.
• Analyze logistics performance metrics and provide actionable insights for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and delivery documentation.
• Experience with container movements, hauliers, depots and delivery scheduling.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in logistics and transport management.
• Proven expertise in freight operations and goods handling.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management software.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Bonus/Nice to Have

• Experience coordinating shipments between Asian origins and South Africa.
• Strong understanding of international freight movements and forwarding processes.
• Familiarity with customs declarations, clearance and compliance.
